If you don’t have the Substack app, it’s best done on desktop if possible. Onto today’s bulletin, and a bumper Community Noticeboard too.

📌 Theatre show for Refugee Week: ‘Refugee Matters / Refugees Matter’ was written by former Gloucestershire charity worker Pammy Mitchell and explores complex issues that refugees and asylum seekers face in the UK system. The show will take place at 7.30pm on Saturday June 21st at The Folk of Gloucester (formerly Gloucester Folk Museum), 99-103 Westgate Street, GL1 2PG. Details here. - Thanks to subscriber Jessica for this submission
📌 NHS Gloucestershire is asking recent parents to help improve maternity services by taking a survey. ‘Do you live in Gloucestershire and have had a baby in the last three years? We are looking at how maternity services in the county can be developed. We want to understand what currently works well and what could be done better. Numbers and statistics tell part of the story, but they don’t tell us about people's experiences or explain why people make certain choices. That’s why we need to hear from you.’ 👇
📌 Stagecoach will offer free bus travel to serving military, service families, veterans and cadets during Armed Forces Day weekend, from June 27th to 29th. This initiative builds on Stagecoach’s tradition of offering free travel to military and veterans on Remembrance Day, Remembrance Sunday, and the VE Day 80th anniversary earlier this year. Details here.
📌 The grand opening of a new charity charity shop, Farplace Animal Rescue, takes place on Saturday. It’s at the site formerly occupied by YMCA in Northgate Street and is accepting donations now 👇 - Thanks to subscriber Carly for this submission
