✈️ A decision on the sale of £25million Gloucestershire Airport is expected to be made next month. It’s jointly owned by Gloucester City and Cheltenham Borough councils and has been on the market since October. - Gloucester News Centre, via the Local Democracy Reporting Service
👮 Gloucestershire police’s suspended chief constable has been removed from a second position after being served another gross misconduct notice. Rod Hansen was working with the National Police Chiefs Council while a first investigation took place but has been taken out of that role too. - BBC Gloucestershire
🏅 Gloucester’s new mayor has promised to act with ‘compassion and care’ while ‘carrying the city forward’. Ashley Bowkett, formerly a Hollywood award-winning television producer, took over the ceremonial chains this week. - Gloucestershire Live, via LDRS
🐷 Gloucester’s town crier Alan Myatt has made plenty of huge announcements over the years and yesterday was no different as he found himself proclaiming the arrival of Peppa Pig’s new baby sister. Evie Pig was ‘born’ into the cartoon family at the famous Lindo Wing of London’s St Mary’s Hospital, with Alan on hand to help break the news nationally. - Gloucester News Centre

🚨 A taxi driver was allegedly grabbed around the necked and punched by his passenger as he drove him through Gloucester. A 62-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated assault. - Gloucestershire Live
🚨 A knife amnesty is taking place across the county this week to help get blades off the streets. Amnesty bin are available to dispose of weapons at Bearlands police station. - Gloucestershire Live
🚨 Police foiled a suspected drug deal and chased a wanted motorcyclist in a ‘busy day’ patrolling Gloucester on Tuesday. Details of four arrests were posted by the Gloucester Neighbourhood Policing Team including seizing class A drugs. - Gloucestershire Live
🚨 Several neighbourhood incidents have been posted by police to the Your Community Alerts service in recent days:
Plants and trellis worth £200 were stolen from a business premises in Brockworth
Cash was stolen from a Ford Fiesta in Linden
A numberplate was stolen from a BMW motorbike in Westgate Street
A black Mercedes was stolen in Cemetery Road and a Ford Fiesta broken into in Millbrook Street with bank cards and cash taken
