Good morning and welcome to Wednesday’s Start. It’s a quieter bulletin today - Cheltenham Festival is dominating much of the focus for news outlets in the county at the moment so Gloucester headlines are in shorter supply. Here’s what I’ve found for today’s round-up, as well as recapping some bigger stories from recent days.
👷 Work to restore the only surviving remains of a water mill in Gloucester will take place over the next few months after funding was secured. The Sheriff’s Mill, off Abbeymead Avenue, is 200-300 years old. - Gloucester City Council

⚖️ A 21-year-old man from Brockworth has been given a suspended prison sentence after encouraging a 14-year-old girl to send him explicit pictures of herself. Kane Pearson connected with the girl on Instagram and tried to pressure her into meeting. - BBC Gloucestershire
🚨 Gloucester’s team of CPOs - City Protection Officers - who patrol the city centre intervened in more than 200 instances of street drinking and more than 100 of antisocial behaviour in February alone among more, their monthly report shows. - Gloucester BID

🅿️ Changes are coming to two city council-owned car parks. The Eastgate Shopping Centre and King’s Walk sites will switch to pay and display - currently they are pay on foot. 🏥 Temporary visiting restrictions are in place on some wards at Gloucestershire Royal and Cheltenham General hospitals to help stop the spread of norovirus. Visitors are being asked to check first before heading to see family or friends in the hospitals. - Gloucestershire Live
