💡 Interactive light sculpture Twist & Shine arrives in King’s Square today for a launch event this evening. It’s part of the Bright Nights programme and will be in place until Wednesday. 👇
🏢 The former Lloyds bank offices in Barnwood are up for sale as staff are being relocated to Bristol. Barnwood One is being marketed to potential buyers with multiple suggestions for use, including demolition for redevelopment. - Punchline Gloucester
☁️ Today’s weather: Grey, dry and cold throughout.
❌ Vapes were being sold to children as young as 12 by a Bristol Road shop that’s now been stripped of its licence. Staff at Wag 3 were grilled on their ‘serious ongoing pattern of behaviour’ by the city council. - Punchline Gloucester
⚒️ The next generation of stonemasons are learning on the job as apprentices at Gloucester Cathedral. Among them is 23-year-old Lucy Newlyn who’s spoken about her work. - BBC Gloucestershire
🏆 Wetherspoon pub The Lord High Constable of England is the first in Gloucester to be accredited with the newly-returned Best Bar None Award. The scheme, managed locally by The Hollie Gazzard Trust, ensures venues meet high standards of safety and management. - Gloucester BID
🚓 A man was arrested before being released without charge after a M5 crash on Tuesday night. A lane of the motorway was closed for more than an hour near Gloucester Services. - Gloucestershire Live

🎤 The Roots Acoustic Cafe is back again this February at Roots, in Alvin Street. Any new inspiration that you would like to share from the open mic, or an old song you'd like the chance to revive? Music, poetry, stand up - the floor is yours. From 6.30-9pm on Thursday February 13th. All welcome! Soup and hot drinks will be on sale, as well as usual refills shopping.
🎨 New creative social sessions are taking place at Jolt, in King’s Square. There’s one tonight, Thursday 13th, on clay making from 6pm. Various other creative drop-in sessions and workshops take place throughout the month too. 👇
