☁️ Today’s weather: Low chances of rain later while yellow weather warning for thunderstorms remains in place which comes close to Gloucester.
🚗 The reopening of Gloucester Car Boot Sale had to be postponed for a week on Sunday after what’s believed to be a deliberate sabotage attempt. Thousands of rusty tacks were found scattered at the Hempsted Meadows site. - Gloucestershire Live

🚧 Cycle Spine roadworks in Southgate Street are ‘crippling’ trade for an independent business owner who fears her shop may have to close. Much of the Kimbrose Triangle is fenced off but the county council said it is delivering the scheme ‘as smoothly as possible’ and said the business - Art of Shine - is located outside the construction area. - Gloucestershire Live
🍴 The former Chambers pub in King’s Square is likely to become a family-friendly restaurant according to hints from the city council’s leader. ⁉️ The Liberal Democrat leadership at Gloucester City Council was asked to ‘seriously consider its position’ and ‘resign tonight’ over the refusal of a £45million regeneration scheme in Podsmead. The Gloucester City Homes plan was turned down earlier this month by the planning committee in a ‘cross-party decision’, leader Jeremy Hilton said. - Gloucester News Centre, via LDRS
🛗 Apologies have been sent to a second group of people stuck in a city centre lift in recent weeks. The Eastgate shopping centre lift broke down on July 13th, a few weeks after a similar incident in King’s Walk. Both centres are owned by the city council which has faced recent questions over health and safety at the sites. - Gloucestershire Live
🚨 Workers at the British Heart Foundation charity shop in Northgate Street were threatened with violence and abuse in a series of calls made by a man after ordering a sofa there. 🚆 Rail users are being reminded to plan ahead when engineering work shuts the line between Gloucester and the Severn Tunnel junction for three weeks, starting on Monday. - Rail UK
🏉 Young Muslim children discovering a love of sport in Gloucester are being supported with a new fund set up in honour of four-year-old Sara Nanabawa, who died in the Air India disaster. 💚 Robinswood Hill could one day have a community orchard for all to share. It’s one vision for the country park’s future shared by the society of Friends who have celebrated 50 years protecting and preserving the site. - Call Me Will
👕 Music memorabilia like old t-shirts and ticket stubs is being sought for an exhibition at The Folk next month. What Are YOU Listening To? will celebrate 100 years of music and needs fans to loan special items for the show. - BBC Gloucestershire
🫶 A fundraising day of music and food is being held at The Cavern this Friday. The Westgate Street venue helps people with ‘nowhere else to turn’ and money raised will be put towards the continued running of its support for the vulnerable. - Gloucestershire Live
